cuz koplik is a pathogonomonic sign for measles that differentiates between measles ( rubeola) and rubella ( German measles)

The similarity between both is the catarrhal stage and the maculo-papular rash during the eruptive stage
The difference the onset of appearance of the rash
measles ( on the 4th day ) while rubella ( 1st or 2nd day ) and complications

Why there is koplik spots in measles ?
The reason for koplik spots is thought to b a delayed hypersensitivity reaction ,BUT the measles virus is absent from the lesion

If measles is simplely a catarrhal stage ( low grade fever + inflammation of URT ) and an eruptive stage ( rash ) ,
then why is it so important to give MMR ?

cuz we're afraid from the complication not the disease it self

In measles all the time never ever forget three statements :

1. Acute measles panencephalitis
2. Subactue measles encephalitis
3. Subacute Sclerosing panencephalitis
