Say a doctor had a depressed pt , she gave him SSRI (selective seretonin reuptake inhibito ) fluxotine
so this will increase seretonin at brain presynapse in despression as a ttt
now the pt came again with depression and she gave him MAOI ( Monoamine oxidase inhibitor )
so this will inhibit furthur degradation of seretonin

this will lead to SUDDEN increase of seretonin at presynapse

this will lead to severe muscular spasm , hyperthermia , hypertension , CVS disturbance and circulatory collapse finally death

i mean seretonin syndrome

now the main difference between seretonin syndrome and carcinoid tumor regarding seretonin is that

IN seretonin syndrome there is SUDDEN increase in seretonin which will appear in the form of exagerated reaction
While in Carcinoid tumor its GRADUAL increase in seretonin as its a seretonin secreting tumor

but u can choose ur doctor
for ex. i consider i have two doctors in anatomy

i mean if each medical student would bulid his own medical empire in his mind from any source he can find it would b endless joy to study medicine

i rarely step in a doc office for a question though i know they will give me all wat they can but i want to find my blocks my way , learn how to search not only how to ask

they give u the info but u choose in which part of ur empire to plant it and with which part of ur empire u shud link it

yes they have the basic blocks for ur empire but they cant help u in building it if u dont help urself

( and i have to b frank , sometimes i prefer self-study myself than attending some lectures )

not the doctors , but maybe my friend understands from X doc , while i wont

a doctor cant be understood from all students , minds differ
