months of age, infants should be able to follow a moving toy not only from
side to side but also in the vertical plane. When placed on his or her
abdomen, a normal 3-month-old infant can raise his or her face 45degre to 90degre
from the horizontal. Not until 6 to 8 months of age should an infant be able
to maintain a seated position.
